Beware When by Sonnet Mondal

Love draws near
without clamour

nectar smells —
enraptures [us]
to smell further

a hunger to attain
evolves without bargains

bliss in loneliness
gets confused
with fleeting pleasure.

blind faith has crept inside
clothed in religion

you are a caged bird
prancing to perfidious bars
                   easy food and care
                   easy answers to arguments

when the urge to know
the world once more

your wings fall flat

and the world doesn’t
lend a hand

for you are a homeless
within a home.
