Poetry at Sangam

DIWALI by Amlanjyoti Goswami

Earthen lamps ledge
Precarious as hope
Flickering the night, with
The assurance of old hands, trembling.

This is magic
Unseen, unannounced, yet final and
Quiet as the neighbour
Who drinks his whiskey in silence
And sinks into his house without a word.

Let’s string some raindrops, next time.
